Behold my yellow outfit! Not too much to say this week, I only own 3 yellow garments and this is the only one I'm yet to feature in a challenge. (See here & here) A colour I have nothing against, and see fit to invest more in. PS. These shoes are the highest I own, and were on sale for like $6! Craziness. On a side note, despite having several black and white outfits in mind, life got in the way and I totally missed last week's Aussie Curves challenge! Silly me.
I feel very Aussie Curves wearing predominantly Australian & New Zealand labels in this week's pink challenge! I must admit, I'm not too 'pink' of a person. This dress and one top completes my pink clothes range in fact. But OHMY, can we just pause and discuss this dress. It is def one of the cutest garments I own. I bought it a few years ago, when I was holidaying in New Zealand. It is by the amazingly talented and whimsical Kiwi designer Annah Stretton. Being "inbetween" plus and straight sizes at a chubby-yet-lovable size 16/18, I was at first reluctant to enter the boutique, but I was lured in by the romantic/feminine/detailed aesthetic. Please admire here. I'm so glad that I ventured in! Size XL fits me rather comfortably and I adore the ruffled lampshade that is this dress! Could not help but include a hairflick photo to fully convey how fun it is to wear it. The military-esque Sportscraft jacket is a cashmere blend, I love it. The earrings, Melbounre-based Tilkah, the Annah Stretton of the accessories world!
I'm back home in Melbourne as well, after 15 months living/studying/traveling in Europe! yay!

When I was 15 I went through every concieveable haircolour. This is a photo from my debutante ball where it was a very hot pink! My mum made me a complementary vintage pink lace bolero. Unfortunately for me my partner was an extremely flourecent redhead, we clashed terribly ahah.
Harro everyone! Love this weeks theme, I'm a big festival fan. Already got my ticket to Soundwave 2014! The latest festival I've been to is the Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart, Germany. In fact, I was there about 3 days ago! Cannstatter Volksfest is a beer festival / carnival - essentially a smaller, less touristy Oktoberfest. (Which I also went to this year - perhaps an outfit post on this day to come!)
Haha why for I be grumpy? Anyway, this was my outfit of choice, actually most of it I purchased in Germany. Dressing for a bierfest is rather different to summer / concert / music festivals as 1) its cold outside, but warm in the beer tents 2) most people are wearing lederhosen (think traditional German attire) and 3) it's basically a giant, stein-themed night out. I was actually considering buying lederhousen, but my suitcase is already dangerously overweight. So instead, I opted for layers. The jumper was a real find at just 10 euro (circa $15) at a random shop near a supermarket (lol) but I'm REALLY in love with this amaze hand painted brooch I discovered in an antique shop in Augsburg, Bavaria. I thought it was very appropriate to wear!
Obligatory lebkuchenherzen - gingerbread heart - le boyfriend lovingly purchased for me. Sadly only 3 days in my suitcase and the lettering has deteriorated a fair bit. Perhaps I should just eat it instead of trying to bring it back to aus?
The festival in of itself was pretty sweet, and both of us prefered it to oktoberfest. We had heard that for both beer festivals you should make sure to get there really early to secure a table (as beer is only served to those who have a seat - whether sitting or standing on it!) However as it was just the two of us travelling we found it really easy to turn up, ask for a seat and find one! I suppose the beer tents were looking to make money and we were looking to drink beer, so it worked out pretty well. Also, may I just comment, the food available was (expensive, yet) SO DELICIOUS. I am thinking I will make a post eventually about the food.
That's it from me, in less than a week I'll be back in melb for the first time in 14 months! Rather excite. Also means I can introduce all you lovely ladies to my full wadrobe, which is something I'm really looking forward to reuniting with. :)
Outfit under $50 with access to my full wardrobe is no problem, but since I'm living out of a suitcase it was a bit difficult to show you something that I haven't already casually mentioned! I am no stranger to "popping tags" as it were, all whilst only having $20 in my pocket at the time in question. But I haven't really found similar quality 'thrift shops' overseas, which is annoying. Even in Manchester, hipster central as it were, there were just "retro" or "vintage" shops, where second hand items cost more than new ones probably would. Wheres the fun in that? But anyway, regardless I couldn't miss the opportunity to purchase some bits and bobs (despite ridiculously heavy and over weight limit suitcase), so here is my outfit of the day, which also happens to be under fifty bucks!
This black tunic-esque top is a steady go-to piece for me (in fact, I even mentioned it in my timesaver post a few months ago), just so dayum versatile! The cigarette pants, I love the cut and pattern. Perhaps I was inspired to wear them this morning by the bedsheets? The flats have a gorgeous laser cut out pattern, haven't worn them that much as I'm paranoid about getting a weird foot tan in ze european sun and finally THE BELT, I looove. Should have gotten a few more in other colours really.
That's it from me! Please excuse the shitty lighting, rather frustrating not being able to set up camera the way I loike it.

I have been so sososo busy with uni; 8,000 words of dissertation completed, now have 4 days to learn an entire subject and pass my final exam, le boyfriend who I havn't seen for 9 months arrives night before said exam (when my best studying gets done).. arg. Fast forward to this time next week plez!! However took a little break to show one of my most favorite sequin outfits that I have with me... no time to find a cool photo location so enjoy my bedroom wall! I must confess that I love all things with texture, pattern, print and embellishment so I own a few sequined things. However worn this skirt out a fair few times and received nothing but compliments, so I present a very ASOS outfit:
Top: ASOS Curve// Shoes: Grand Bazaar Istanbul// Hair: tamed by Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier by TIGI // Necklace: Sportsgirl // Skirt: ASOS // Bracelet: Modern Miss Vintage Clothing
I was slightly concerned when the skirt first arrived because it wasn't really as "peplum" as I had been expecting, but soon got over it becaus I just really love gold sparky things haha but do find it is a bit short if worn at the hips. ps. TIGI products are awesome, used a few from their range and have always been impressed. They're not overly expensive, and easy to buy over Amazon.
I feel very neglectful of this blog but alas I'm really keen to be done with university life and this must pay the price :( SOON RECTIFIED
Top: Vintage/Thrifted .. is this really a big difference?
// Jacket: Atmosphere for Primark
Clutch: Atmosphere for Primark // Stockings: unknown shop in Italy
Bronze House Stark Sigil Ring (or just wolf ring): Norse Market, Old Town Stockholm // Skirt: GirlXpress for Kmart
A pretty big downside to being overseas is the limited wardrobe, I don't really have anything leather with me! So kind of copping out for this one, have to re do it once I'm back in Melb. All I have is this 'leather look' studded clutch some mates bought me for my birthday. I've only used it out once because I feel weird as hitting up the D-Floor having to hold it haha, hopefully as the weather heats up and le boyfriend comes over it shall see a few lunch or coffee dates as its pretty badass. Also I think this top has the best print possibly ever.
Hoi! I'm often running late so I'm pretty good at timesaving when it comes to getting dressed. This semester all my classes were at 9am. ALL OF THEM! And just for one hour too, so literally back in bed by 1030am. I'll admit, one or two times I just went to class in what I slept in haha especially on those cold mornings. Othertimes I relied on my standard timesaving outfit of choice:
Cardigan: thrifted// Jeans: ASOS// Bag: gift from Chille
I really like these jeans! more of a "jegging" really as they are so thin, but they have a slight acid wash which lurve. This is definately my go-to handbag, great for fitting the ONE SINGLE BOOK I need for my one class a day, and some pens, water, breakfast snack, etc. No doubt you'll be seeing it again ^.^
I can take up to an hour carefully applying make up, or about 5 minutes. After a light application of foundation and a bit of mascara, I discovered the Rimmel Instant Radiance, and its pretty awesome for when you have 0 time. It's a mousse blusher, quite pigmented, so the smallest dab on each cheek blended in makes it totally look like I did not just wake up 5 mins ago.Actually the foundation in the Wake Me Up range is pretty good too.
Both the top and cardi are from Savers, my absolute favorite place to shop ever. Bit disappointed I have not been able to find an equivalent in Manchester really.
I would also like to share my biggest timesaving tip: wash your hair less often. Not as ew as it sounds, trust. I have very long wavy hair as you can probably see. It takes me about 20 minutes to comb, and about half an hour to wash with shampoo and conditioner, maybe another half an hour to dry with a hairdryer.. ain't nobody got time for that.Whilst still maintaining a daily shower I wash my hair perhaps every 4 days.. these images are taken on day 3, and not looking disgusting. Over time the less often you wash your hair the less oily it becomes, at least that's what I've found anyway. If you wash your hair everyday more oils are produced as the act of cleaning it makes your hair freak out due to the oils they just produced being washed away, then you wash it more to relieve excess oil but more and more is being produced... just a vicious cycle really.
Brooch: aurora borealis swarovski crystal cat - gift
Dress: Papaya Weekend//Vest: GirlXpress // Belt: Icon // Shoes: not shown for a reason
Lipstick: combination 'Peachy Pink' - Barry M + 'Pink Sugar' - Revlon
:S My very first Aussie Curves official submission.. played along at home for a fair while haha. I've always liked maxi dresses but never how they looked on me. In about 2 months I'll start traveling around Europe, including a week-long sail around Croatian islands and wanted that aloof-holiday-maxi dress look enough to do something about it regardless.
Alas, currently I am nestled in Manchester and - although I wouldn't classify it as such by AU standards - the temperature has gone from negative to positive degrees, so apparently it's "getting warm". So this is me trying to fit in. (whilst lounging at home with the heater up full blast in ugg boots.)
I'll let everything speak for itself, however, special note: The vest I purchased from K-Mart, and the dress from UK version of K-Mart, Matalan. Matalan is actually pretty good, I'm not sure if they deliver internationally but if you ever find yourself in the UK give it a go.
